    Description

    King Radio Corp. KDI 570 DME Indicator
    One rather ancient
    KDI 570 DME Indicator
    as manufactured by
    King Radio Corp. Olathe KS USA
    and identified as type or
    p/n 066-3003-00
    as rescued from the radio room of 1960s and 1970s obsolete technology relegated to a shelf. A shame, really, as this stuff was simple and worked really, really well back in the day.
    Metal cased. Replete with stickers from former owners and OH shops.  Weight is 2.2 pounds  according to data plate. Unit measures 3 x 3 inches for square panel mount and is about 7" deep.
    Condition is "Used, As-Removed and Un-tested."
    Certainly a good parts source or awesome vintage panel filler for a sim build project. I see no modifications, no excessive drop damage or overall abuse... again, it's just an ancient piece of technology, and I am assuming that's why it was removed from service. This one has

    No bugs or dust or dirt behind the glass. Very, very clean. Counter seems all there and moves like it should with no binding or hesitation. Nothing rattles or clacks. Could use a little cleaning... but no nasty dents (one very slight one) to the case and internals look crisp and clean and nothing appears missing. Knobs are not bent or broken.
    This system used the old fashioned heavy Bendix connector. This one is missing the special connector, and we cannot help with a spare. Really a neat, neat old instrument!
